Should not be ANY radial play in the throttle shaft/carb body/bushing.  It
will suck air and you will never be able to adjust them properly.  You can
have the bodies reamed and put an oversize shaft in there or get it bushed
and put an standard size shaft in.  Or, get new carb bodies and standard
shafts.  Standard size parts is better IMHO, easier to obtain replace
original size parts later for the next rebuild.  Also, it is easier to
attach the linkage to standard size shafts.  You would have to have the
linkage reamed alsowhere it attaches to the shaft if you go oversize.  Have
someone that knows what they are doing ream out the carb body or the bushing
he puts in.  Kind of tricky for a first timer.
