Hi Kirk,
I'd first fix any leaks in the system before bleeding. It needs to be done
in that order!
You also need to see if the brake M/Cyl has worn out rubber and is leaking,
maybe internally! Possible rebuild time.

Unvented caps on the M/Cyl aren't likely a cure!
