Draining and refilling an automatic transmission is a waste of time. There
is no way to get all the debris out of the torque converter and valve body
unless it is flushed with a proper machine. The machine pumps new fluid in
one way and the old fluid pumps out the other way until the fluid coming out
is like new. I highly recommend a transmission flush on a Chevrolet Truck
every 60,000 miles. If you miss the one at 60k, you will replace the tranny
at 130k. Just what I've seen in the service drive, YMMV.
