One thing I did on after my recent restoration was to
install an inline fuse on the hot lead to the battery (the brown wire on a 
Bugeye)
I think I put a 30 amp fuse in there.

I figure if  I do a stupid short somewhere it might just save the harness. 

It hasn't blown yet...hope it never does.
