I took my wife in a Spridget to an Autocross on our second date. After
running second and third for months, I won for the first time ever and never
raced again. I still have that trophy in the back of a closet. And I still
have that wife, too.
The car became a family joke shortly after that race, when it got stuck in
reverse and we had to drive it home backward up two miles of switchbacks in
the hills above Honolulu.
