<< ( Healeys and Austin - Healeys page 181to prove it, even though most
folks say body color. >>

*So you are professing ONE[1] picture is gospel, died in the wool
& proof positive, Jack ?? Would you bet your life on it ??*
*Would you bet your car on it ??

To me, positive would be original cars of which there ARE examples.
To me, discussions with DMH & son Geoff would be good for 99.99%.
To common sense after seeing British assembly line picture*S*
would offer proof of methods and lend credence to many, many
recollections of folks that actually WORKED at the various plants.
Do John Sprinzel ring a bell<G>?? Does John Wheatley ring a bell ??

*<< They were obviously made by a vendor and painted by him before ever
seeing the factory. >>

Agreed BUT, you have proof positive that the hinges were NOT
painted car colour after delivery ??? I doubt it <G>.

I am NOT saying either one is correct, just what the Committee
must go thru inorder to reach a "Standard".

The Committees do NOT just sit around imbibing fine brews &
cocktails, flipping a coin and "Dats it." !!! More WORK and
RESEARCH has been done to reach what we have now than you
could ever imagine !!! And keep in mind that for the past thirty
[30] plus years all those MAN HOURS are VOLUNTEER HOURS.

I was not only present at the FIRST Delegate Meeting at which
the idea was even broached, but IIRC "moved" that the AHCA
donate some MEAGER funds for them to proceed and come up
with publishable "Standards" for both classes of A-Hs. I have
followed their work, professed my admiration of it, THANKED
them for it, and was even a Judge [volunteer job again] for
Big Healey Sports Convertibles.

What have YOU "volunteered" for lately ?? I have just
checked both AHCA & AHCUSA book and do not find your name
[with car & wife]. So you don't have enough "feelings" for the
Marque to join a Club/Chapter and volunteer your time and
knowledge and talents ?? Why not ??

But you DO want all those folks and the non-Members so take
ONE [1] picture [that has been printed how many times??] as
"proof".

Not in my book, sorry.
