Yes, and truck tires and trailer tires have a more similar
construction than car tires and trailer tires.
Greater sidewall strength helps keep trailers from swerving.
Big trucks run much higher pressures (like 80-100PSI, maybe?).

Some people think car tires or P metric tires are fine on trailers.
They're round and roll fine.  But, if you are involved in an accident
because your trailer tire failed and you were running car tires on a
trailer be ready to go to court and get taken to the cleaners.

Some people pull 20,000lb loads with a 2" ball on a bumper on a 1/2
ton truck.  It works.  What works and what is safe are often subjects
of debate, especially after an accident.
