Thanks to all for information about redoing the cockpit surround molding
for my BE.  I cleaned up the worst gouges with a file. sanded with
progressively finer paper then very fine steel wool.  Next was rubbing
compound, polishing compound and scratch remover. Then wax. They
are't perfect but look much, much better, but don't have the bright shine
and hardness that anodization would provide.  I will leave the anodize step
as a future option. Very seldom do I use the top and side curtains, so
hopefully scratching should be minimal.
