Sam,
I have not tried the 14" wheel size, but I have run the 15" wheels off
of a 1985 Mustang GT with 205/65 15's on the back and 196/65 15's on the
front. I had no clearance problems to speak of, other than a slight rub
when backing up and turning the wheel to the right. I thing that the
next tires I am going to try will be the same rears and 205/50 15's on
the front.
The stock Mustang wheel is 15x7 with about a 4" backspace.
