More HP does not equal MORE HEAT.  This is a question of efficency, increasing
the valve size helps the engine breath better.  Yes you may get a little bit of
an increased air charge into the combustion chamber which will give you more
heat.  But mostly what it does is frees up HP that is being robbed from the
engine to pump air in and out through little valves.  Actually you might see 
no change or a cooler running engine.  

If your engine does run hotter it is probably because your driving in higher
RPM's where the efficency improvement will give you the most HP and fun.
