Rick,

Lap only straps appear to have been designed to ensure your nose hits
the wheel/dash every time !!

You should find some plastic blanks with a slot on the top either side
of the floor in the rear footwell. On near the handbrake fixings and the
other in the corner near the back of he centre glovebox. Removing this
will expose a pre welded and tapped mounting.

The third mounting for the diagonal is on the rear inner wheelarch below
the side cover for the soft top. It may be under wheelarch trim, but you
can feel it under the wheelarch to the front.

Each of these has a UNF thread and a load spreading plate on the back.
If yor car does not have them REMEMBER to use a load spreading plate or
the bolts may pull through the body in an accident!

I don't know what child seat you use but generally a lap strap will do
but a three point belt is better.
