         who did were buying up all the Tigers, Cobras, Vette's, and Boss/GT 
Mustangs
         they could find..<remember the "Gas Shortage" ?> 

        1975-77
        I bought a SS 396 Impala Convertible with air $400,  66 GTO $375 drove 
to El Paso 
        with air at 105 cruising speed...turned down 67 390 mustang convertible 
for $800, 
        Tigers were $800-1100,  67 427 vette convertible was $5,000!!! with 
air. and 4 speed.
        

        in 1970 Jaguar XK-SS was $3,000, Ferrari 250 GT convertible was $3,000 
good shape, 
        Ferrari Lusso was $8,000.  Dallas used to have a Quonset hut full of 
250 GTE and roadster
        Ferraris (8-15) waiting for buyers.  XKE $1500 along with 356 Porsches.
        I bought a Lotus elan for $750 then. It had a HRE engine.

        Apollo (the old Vetta Ventura) was $1800 in 1975.   70 corvette was
