Hi:
The internal ground in the tac. is a weak spot - a short could have
burned it away.  Try adding a seperate ground wire. Just take the
tac. apart and follow the ground route through the long bolt and you
will see were it is supposed to ground. Solder in a were and route it
out of the case to ground. Of course check that it is infact the
tac.that is not functional before doing this.
