ATF works fine in T-5s and may work fine in your toploader, but do you want
to risk it to find out?
The leak through the speedo cable may be due to a faulty seal in the speedo
drive. On GM stuff the drive is sealed and fluid should never get as far as
the cable, I would think that Ford stuff would also be sealed. Look for a
small lip seal to seal the driven gear to the housing.
