Well, I can confirm at least one Japanese car can't beat my 2bbl-260
Tiger. The Mazda Miata. I have had several challenge me for a race,
thinking they had some poor bastard in an MG type car to humiliate. I
really enjoy showing them the error of their ways...
Other cars that have fallen to my lowly almost stock Tiger: 84
Corvette, Stock 67 Camaro, 75 Porsche 911 (twice). The one factor not
mentioned in this thread is the ability to shift and drive. I think that
most of these cars are probably faster on paper than my car, but are
driven by people who don't really know how to race. Or, I just got
lucky...(grin)
And I've lost a few races too. Mostly to a devious guy in a 69 Z28. No
econo-boxes though.
But I love my Tiger. And I think it gives me the perfect compromise
between drivability and performance. And it's fun!
