Doug,

You are correct about the original LAT 70's not having the "safety bead".  It
really has nothing to do with needing tubes.  If you get a flat, the rim unseats
itself from the rim without a bead, tubes, or not.

BUT, the "LAT 70" rims being carried by Sunbeam Specialties are brand new,
better made than the original, and have the safety beads.  A little pricey, but
very nice.  Comes in different widths too, and offset for the Tiger.
