Tower paint sells the original Rootes formulas in spray cans very reasonably.
They also have full cans. One issue, however, is that the original paint was
enamel. I am not sure anyone would want to go to the work and expense of a
paint job and do it in enamel. Some companies (PPG) have paint matching optical
equipment. They also have a glossy checkerboard card. You can get your
original color from Tower, spray the card, and they will match the color in most
of the new paints. You might even be able to find some good quality original
paint on your car. Some favorite hiding places are underneath the hood-latch
tray.
