I have a problem with a hot Tiger too, but it is the cockpit that gets too
hot, not the engine. I've given it a close look and realize the problem is
there are holes everywhere in the firewall - a hole for the steering
column, one for access to the back spark plug, one to access a bolt on the
exhaust systems, another for the oil pressure line, etc. These holes
provide a direct conduit for hot air blowing on my feet. Nothing but
carpeting covers most of these hole, the rest lack even that little bit of
shielding. Is this normal, or did the PO omit a number of grommets and
other plugs? I'm planning on installing heavy duty foil/insulation under
the carpet and as far up the firewall as I can get it. Any problem with
this idea? Any better suggestions?
