<< Maybe there are some on the list who can clear up the issue of Tiger
 pedigree. >>

1. A Tiger never becomes an Alpine and vice versa.
2.Yes, but what's the point?
3. Yes, born an Alpine, forever an Alpine, which is still a wonderful thing!
4. Neither a Tiger or an Alpine needs to have the original VIN plate to be
authentic, they just need to be authentic Tigers or Alpines.
5. No, refer to #3.
6. Trick question. VARA and SCCA don't give a sh-t about period correct or
authenticity, so Alpine V8 conversions are no problem in their world of
vintage racing. HMSA and CSRG are more sticklers, so "no go" for the same car.
7. Yes, a 427 would require more than a little persuasion. Ditto the Ferrari,
twin cam heads are not going to fit between the fenderwells. Besides, you
could easily build a stroker 302 which would have about two times the torque
of the Ferrari for less than the cost of a new set of Webers for that
beautiful piece of Italian sculpture!
With tongue firmly in cheek,
Mike
