Brock,

Straight water with separately sold anti-corrosion and lubrication
additives is better than water alone.  No one I know suggests that
antifreeze, with these additives, isn't better.  Requirements: Proper
mixture ratio (usually 50/50 depending on winter severity), DISTILLED
water, annual replacement.  Occasional flushing and Gant brass filters
(properly serviced) are a big plus.  At the very least, fresh
addititves,annually, if you don't change fluids (not recommended).

Not sure whose posting gave you that impression.
