I will be starting at 15 psig boost. The block, pistons, rods are from DSS and
have already been run at 22 psi boost from a Vortec. If I want to go higher,
I'll have to use one of those cranks from TWS that are good for 10,000 rpm and
1000 hp. Can't afford that. As to traction, I had not heard that there was a
problem. I see Al Teague with his single engine 5000 hp rear wheel drive
streamliner getting enough traction to reach 414 + mph. When he ran in
Australia, the salt was wet and you hear that sucker loosing traction a 380
mph. I have been using shift master to design my shift points to get the best
velocity. As in all things, this is all just a starting place. Like a battle,
when the first shot is fired the battle plan goes out the window. I suspect my
racing adventures will be much the same. Thanks for the comments and well
wishes. It will be a while before any attempts, though.
