You know how California now has law that says you must have liability
insurance before you can get your drivers license renewed?  Did you ever
notice that you still keep hearing about people getting into accidents with
people who don't have insurance?  Did you ever wonder how that was
happening?  I just learned that what people do is obtain insurance, get
their license, and cancel the insurance, getting a refund for the remainder
of their premium!

Maybe it's time to get Senator Kopp going on another bill to protect the
classic cars (and the drivers and passengers therein) that he so generously
saved from disappearing.   Seems the only solution would be to have some
type of law preventing insurers from cancelling policies and returning
premiums unless there is confirmation that replacement insurance is being
put in place.  The insurers would certainly jump on that bandwagon!
