I have been up to my elbows in car grease lately so have not been paying my
usual undivided attention to the give and take on the list. If this item has
already been mentioned, mea culpa.
I wanted to mention that the current (August) issue of Classic & Sports Car
magazine has a brief bit on a Tiger. The item is small enough it may have been
missed if y'all read your car mags like I do... Anyway, back on page 209 as
part of their "One You Can Buy" series which appears in each issue is a Tiger
for sale.
It is listed as a "Sunbeam Tiger MkI, Year of Manufacture, 1967." (Yeah, I
know.) Asking price is UKP 16,000. (So, what's that? Like about $23,000? It's
been a while since I was over there...) RHD and stripped interior though is
does have two seats.
The interesting thing is, it is listed as "one of the fastest cars in the
annual Manx Classic with a top end of 150 mph" and is powered by a 351. It is
considered "just about civilised enough to use on the road."
There are three good though small photos and the engine compartment shot is
very interesting as it shows the roll cage which extends into the engine
compartment and surrounds the engine.
Interesting car... Anyone who wants to read it but can't get the mag, I will
