Seat Covers

I am recovering my MK1 seats with new covers from Martha Wheat, and new
foam cushions for Sunbeam Classics.

On the back portion, the original seats had a piece of foam in the lower
portion of the seat center back rest, that fit in a pocket.

The new cover for the back has this same pocket, but the new foam piece
for the back rest is one piece. 

Is a foam piece still needed in this pocket?

Doing this tomorrow morning, and appreciate the help.
