Tigers,
The following message was bounce on 1-17-00. Hope it makes it this try.

"Anyone know what is going on with the (1968" Tiger?) that was being
auctioned on EBAY? There have been 3 bid retractions so far, 2 state "bs
bid, no response to email". I have sent email to the seller requesting ID
and JAL numbers. The seller has not responded. From the photos one can
barely make out a shinny ID plate with new (probable NOS purchased on EBAY)
rivets. Looks to have a round corner hood, radiator delete, fan shroud
delete, overflow tank delete, etc delete. Has a 5.0 and a 5 speed tranny.

Some persistent investigation reveals little about pedigree from the current
seller. A very strange ID was reported by a private individual trying to
research the car for possible purchase. The ID was B3821xxxx. Yes, MKII
numbers? The last 3 numbers were over the 633 that ended Tiger MKII
production. The letter prefix's were also very strange for an export left
side driver.

Anyway, the car is off the auction block as of today. Let's hope this is
not an Alger on the auction block. Oh boy, case in point for a TAC sticker
and cert. of authenticity. Amazing, people will bid/pay over $10k sight
unseen for what they believe is an authentic factory Tiger.
Then again, it is red and has NOS rivets on a shinny ID plate. Kind of like
that MKII that sold for over $30k two years ago at Pebble Beach. Those
shinny NOS rivets were real cool on the fake ID. The owner probably now
figures the only thing cooler would be a TAC sticker.
Tim
