Well, I was going to start by saying that's a great point, and that I
wasn't thinking about racing applications.  Then I realized that there
probably is no reason in the world why brakes should be better on racing
Sunbeams than the ones we are driving on the street every day!

Maybe I'm oversensative on rotors these days considering that on two new
cars I've had to replace rotors at what I thought was very low mileage -
especially since I've yet to have to do it on my older sports cars (which
are admittedly a fraction of the weight).  But, from what I understand,
replacing rotors on today's "performance sedans" is not uncommon at
20-30,000 miles (BMWs, Acuras and Volvos are what I heard about, there
certainly could be more cars on the list I don't know about).
