Larry,

What about fuel?? Could you possibly have a piece of debris in one of the
jets or float bowls? Happened to me once with the Holley DP. Turned out
that the fuel line (read, rubber hose from hard line,) began disintegrating
and fowled the jets.

What the heck!

Regards,

Allan

Well guys, I took the Tiger to the muffler shop today for some minor
repairs and a safety inspection. On the way to the shop, about a ten
mile trip, I began noticing a slight miss in the ignition. By the time I
arrived, the Tiger was really running rough. I had the repairs done,
passed the safety inspection and headed back home. Never made it. The
engine was missing so badly I couldn't get it nursed home. Ended up
having to get it towed. Fortunately the tow truck driver was a car
enthusiast and was real careful with it.

I have been unable to find the cause of the problem. The fuel pump and
carburetor seem to be functioning properly. I'm running a Mallory dual
point ignition so I have checked the dwell and it seems to be in
tolerance. Also, as best I can determine, the timing is where it should
be. All vacuum line are secure. I put an ohmeter on the coil and get
about 1.3 ohms on the primary side and about 13,000 on the secondary. Do
these results indicate a defective coil? Does anyone recall how to test
a capacitor using an ohmeter? Could the problem be in the ballast
resistor? At any rate, any input or suggestions will be appreciated. I'd
really like to get the Tiger back on the road. Thanks
