Those are the shoulder harness mounts for the optional 3 point seat belts. An
excellent set, that bolts right in to those, and bottom holes, are available
new from Moss Motors. They are listed for the MGB. I've had the original
Rootes 3 point, and these are much better, easier to use, and still black too.
Using a drill on those trim "rivets" usually results in "spinning" them, and
the pressure leaves a small pimple where the rivet used to be. If you can
leave them alone, you can sand off the extra paint along the outer holding edge
with masking tape protecting the paint, and a fine, flexible fine grit paper or
emery. The plastic will work, but not as well, and some clipping is required
because they are not exactly the right shape. (BTDT)
