They're pretty simple: a hose, usually with a rigid tube attached to the end
is inserted into an open bucket of sandblasting sand.  This hose tee's into
the sandblasting nozzle just upstream from the point of exit, and when a
high velocity stream of air is passed through the nozzle a low pressure zone
is created at the tee that draws sand up the hose where it mixes with the
air stream before being expelled.
