Steve,

No experience with the cast aluminum bracket, but I did have one made of
1/4" thick steel plate on the beater Fairlane motor that used to be in
the snake. It was nowhere near strong enough. I had to add bracing to
keep it from bending. This consisted of a piece of angle iron bolted to
it and to the bellhousing. This worked surprisingly well.

Now I have a clutch slave bracket question, sort of. I'm trying to
attach the T10 to the original 5-bolt HiPo and am missing a few pieces.
Amongst the missing is a set of bellhousing bolts.

Question 1: I'm wondering if the 5-bolt 289s bellhousing bolts were the
same as for the 260? The 5-bolt bolts were 3/8"-16, and probably about
2" long.

Question 2: The slave bracket I have is made of cast iron and is plenty
strong enough, but the two bellhousing bolts that hold it in place are
longer than the rest. So I'm wondering if whatever bolts were used on
260 Tigers brackets would work on my 5-bolt 289? The bellhousing
thickness at the bolt holes is 1 1/2". The bracket adds another 1 1/2"
to this at one hole and 3/4" to it at the second hole.
