TAC (Tiger Authentication Committee) is coming to the Washington, DC
area, on September 29 and 30.
The first day, Saturday September 29, will have a TAC Inspectors School,
with the Premier Instructor, Tom Hall. Tom, who is coming from his home
in California, is one of the co-founders of the program. This school
will be 4 to 6 hours, starting at 10:00 AM, and will delve into the
differences between a Sunbeam Tiger, and Sunbeam Alpine, and More.
There will be a Tiger, and Alpine, to look at and compare, with Tom
explaining the differences, and reasons for these differences. A
written test will be given, to Certify you as a TAC Inspector.
The second day, Sunday September 30, we will begin the TACing of cars.
Tom, as the Senior Inspector, and 2 other TAC Inspectors, will go over
each car, and certify that your Tiger body shell is as originally
manufactured by the Rootes Group.
Don't worry about such things as Alpine fenders, replacing previous
damage, as this inspection goes much deeper.
This part of the session will start at 10:00 AM, and the Inspectors
should be able to TAC up to 4 cars per hour. They are experienced,
efficient, and will look everywhere. So take the spare change out of
the car. Just kidding.
Those cars passing the TAC review, will receive a sticker, attached to
the car, in an unobtrusive location, with an identify number, registered
with STOA, and Norm Miller, author of the Book Of Norman, and co-founder
of the program.
The Instructors School, and TACing session, will be held at Larry and
Susan Wright's home, in Seabrook, Maryland. This gracious couples
house, has easy access from the Washington Beltway (#495).
