Bob:
Exactly my theory too. What are the odds that
those two 260 engines supplied to Rootes, supposedly "race prepared" by Shelby,
many other thousands of which were used and sold by Ford, and many used
successfully for racing, would both blow up in the same race? And didn't one or
two of the other motors Shelby supplied for those cars also have pre-race
problems and have to be replaced, the day before the race, with the motor(s)
that blew up? I might have been born on a turnip cart (or, I might not have
been), but something smells fishy there!
