Steve, most of the cars on the Mercedes are 15-30 years old, with more miles 
that your
car.  Age has nothing to do with synthetics making a car leak, as this is still 
a myth.

Call Mobil 1 at their 800 # and speak to a tech, or go to their web site 
Mobil1.com

Now if You used Mobil 1, You would probably leak, but it is said to really 
clean out the
system, just like casteroil.
