Hi Doug.  I use the MSD 6AL.  It has a rev limiter chip, of the soft type.  ie,
when it hits the limit, it cuts out different cylinders, and is not hard on the
engine.

Getting the MSD unit by itself, is worth the money, and the rev limiter is just
added protection.

PS - I use it regularly.
