There was an old CAT tech tip about running new
washer hose that is very good. I seem to remember
that there are two pieces of metal the hose goes through
and the holes don't line up. The best thing is to tape
the new hose to the old one and then pull it through.
Since you can't do that now, here's what I did. I tied
a string to the new hose and then fed the string into the
inside hole. Then from the engine side I used a hook,
made from a bent coat hanger, to snag the string.

The small rubber grommet fits the hole in the
engine side.

The CAT tech tip also mention adding a few
drops of silicon to the pump to lube the leather
inside. Good idea.

My pump works great.

Quaint?? Beats the VW method of using the
spare tire for air pressure.
