Chris, have him measure the distance from the end of the cable to the 
brass collar that sits on the outside shoulder of the speedo.  Then 
measure the depth inside the hole where the cable goes to the shoulder.

Grind the end of the cable till it is slightly shorter.  MOMA adds a O 
Ring, which she claims does the same thing, but the measurement is the 
real story.

PS - After hearing this and talking to MOMA, and looking at the 
mechanism, see article at United, I still don't see how this could 
affect the mechanism, the way the bushing supports the cable.  Can't 
hurt though.
