Frank,
When you do the conversion be very careful around the locating hole for the
transmission. I had a housing that was welded and the heat caused the flat
trans mating surface to warp/drop and made the hole oblong. It took $150 to
fix the resulting welded piece after heli-coiling and surfacing and reboring
the large locating hole.
By the way NO WOULD DO THE BORING!!! I got it done as a favor and paid
dearly at that but no where near what the fellow spent in time. In the end
it was great but be aware of welders who fail to contain the heat.
