Dave, you are right on, as Mobil 1 does give better mpg, and hp. MB did
consider this, but also the FFS system, that measures length of trip,
temp of engine during trip, speed of car during trip, total miles
between oil change, and a sensor that measures the oil itself,
essentially to look if it is duty.

With all this, if you travel the highways a high mph, then the computer
does not tell you to change oil till 14,000 miles.

Oil and gas in the EU is very expensive, and an oil change in a MB, BMW,
Audi, with its 8 qt., will run around $120 USD.

BTW, if you use Mobil 1 in your 1998 and later MB, they will warranty
your engine for 120K miles.

I get Mobil 1 at Costco for $3.66/qt.

Dave's right out engine engine not going bad with the right oil and
recommended changes. Stop and go, and short trip driving is considered
severe driving, and is really hard on an engine.
