Steve, a lot of folks look on the flow cooler pumps with disdain since
they are just basically a standard pump with an extra set of vanes pop
riveted to the impeller. Some testing done on Tigers have not shown
these pumps to conclusively offer any cooling advantage over "standard"
pumps. That being said they seem to be high quality pumps and are not
much more expensive than comparable pumps that are available. There
definitely are cheaper pumps out there however, there are also much more
expensive pumps like the edelbrock units.

I've got a Flowcooler pump but I can't tell you much about how it works
since I'm still a few months away from being on the road. I can tell
you that you will need to reposition the fan mounting hub on this pump
if you plan to use it in a stock type Tiger engine bay. I pressed the
hub off the pump and flipped it around and pressed it back on into the
required position. The pump I used had a snout a little over 1"
diameter on the back of the hub that prevented the hub from being
pressed far enough down the shaft with the hub in the original
orientation. I had a friend with a lathe turn down the snout to 1" to
fit the stock Tiger fan alignment hole. This is kind of silly because
the fan I'm going to use has a 5/8" hole so now I'm going to have to
open that hole up too but I'm kind of funny that way. Also I wanted to
leave the snout intact as much as possible because it provides some
mechanical stability to the hub.
