Graham, I think, sorry, I did not take off the kick panel or door cover,
but the door strap is held in place by a rivet, that is visible when you
open the door.
I drilled out the rivet, and then the door can be removed. The part in
the door, that is the strap can be removed from the door after this.
Don't loose it, and don't over lubricate it. I did and the pinch spring
that holes the door open does not do as good a job, in holding the door
open.
I used a flat head screw in place of the rivet, and unless you are going
for complete originally, I did not find a substitute, it works well and
it is not noticed.
Of course everyone will be looking at mine now. Oh Well.
