Jim, I agree with you, and maybe that is the challenge, Get Exposure for
the Tiger in mags, TV shows, etc.
I remarked that a fellow owner had his Tiger featured on Car and Driver
TV show a little while back. The show was well done, car looked great,
did a super burn out, interesting to us Boy Racers, and Want To Be's,
and the commentator spoke very highly of the Tiger. No negatives that I
remember.
But no one else on the list commented or maybe saw the show.
If Tigers are the best keep secret, then We need to change that.
I know I get lots of attention, when I take my Tiger out, like most of
you. The girls say, "That's a Cute Car', and the guys say, "I had a
Brother In Law, whatever, who had one of those, how fast is it?"
And they add, "What is it Worth?"
What do you say, $10K, $15K, $25K, $40K?
Well I had the car at a friends house last year, and a guest wanted to
buy it for $50K. Is that a fair price. No way, much too low.
People have very positive remarks about the car, so do we just let it
sit at that?
The car is easy and cheap to take car of, has lots of power, is the most
civilized Brit car of the era, and as Tom Patton, and others have show,
is very fast on the track.
How does a 37 year old car beat a new factory team, and yes Tom's car is
a race car, but so are those factory team cars. Embarrassing to the
factory teams, so they change the rules, but what would the interest be
in the Tiger if all the restrictors were removed?
