How about...
Vinyl dashes come with chrome rings.
Black rings come with wood dashes. 
The converse (for either of the above statements) is not necessarily
true.

- Only the first 400 or so Tiger 1's came with vinyl dashes, but all
mk1's came with chrome rings.
- Some (or all?) Mk1A Tigers originally came with black rings, but all
mk1A's came with wood dashes.

Still not right...I have B9471136 since Jan 1967 and it came with a
chrome
ring and a wood dash. My car was born in Oct 1964.
