John,

Sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you are felling better and
have no lingering health issues. I hope Doug Jennings will be able to
repair your Tiger, but I have one question: Since the accident was
obviously not your fault, why did your insurance pay? IMHO, the giggly 18
year old girl's insurance should have footed the bill for your Tiger, as
well as some medical help for you. Did the girl at least get a ticket for
causing you all this trouble?

Glad to hear some good news on Classic Car insurance. I may have to
give Hagerty a call and see what they can do for me.

Keep on Tigering!

I have heard a lot of horror stories about insurance companies so I think
Hagerty should get some credit for how they handled my recent accident.

My son John sold his van. He wanted to deliver it to the buyer and needed a
ride back home. Sunday, May 30th was a beautiful day here in Detroit for a
top
down Tiger ride so I gassed it up and off we went. While we were sitting at
a
light, a giggly 18 year old girl driving a PT Cruiser failed to notice we
were
stopped and slammed into the back of me, pushing me into my son's van. Her
excuse was she had new dark glasses and couldn't see that we were stopped.
The
Tiger was seriously damaged in the front and back and I had a stiff neck for

about three days. After the impact, the fuel line at the rear of the car was

leaking so the fire department was called. They closed two lanes of a four
lane
highway while trying to stop the flow of gasoline.

The next day I called Doug Jennings of Tiger Auto Service in Dayton, Ohio
and
described the damages. He was interested in fixing the Tiger so on June 9th,

we towed the car from Detroit to Doug's Tiger Auto Service in Dayton, OH.
Doug
thinks he can restore the car for the amount of the settlement and work is
to
begin after the SUNI. I am of course hoping for a quick recovery.

Now for those of you who have questions about different insurance companies
and how well they handle their claims. I have Hagerty Insurance and have
received outstanding service from Hagerty's claim Service Representative
Tyann
Bydges. June 16th their claims adjuster came to Tiger Auto Service, and
agreed with
Doug that my Tiger was totaled. Hagerty deducted the value of the car after
the accident from my full declared value and on July 2nd, they paid me the
difference plus towing services from the accident. This was
within two months with no hassle.

         John Logan
