Just to bring it forward (or backward) a bit, my MK1a (000975) was
purchased new from the dealer badged "Sunbeam V8" and sold with a
pentastar. The build date was before the Chrysler purchase. A
discussion about a year and a half ago had the pentastar being added
by a Chrysler memo to dealers.
