After destroying one with a puller, torch and foul temper. I used a press

In the end I pulled the drums then the backing plate, the castle nut,  
etc.. then pulled the whole half shaft from the differential and used  
a press to drive the shaft from the hub.. and it took alot of  
force...try hard not to mushroom the shaft ends.. I am sure others  
have opinions, and many will find reasons not to do it this way- or  
those who actually could use a hub puller with out snapping studs will  
share their good fortune. ...But, this process worked for me.  Do be  
ready if the ram launches the half-shaft like a scud or more  
accurately a frog missile in your shop!

There are many technigues listed on the club sites- do check the  
run-out when you reassemble, ... lots of luck
