This is an interesting subject that is worth looking at; what are today's
corresponding bulb numbers for our lights.

I don't have a complete list of replacement bulbs for myself and this is
something which all of us need handy.

Here is the list from the Shop Manual; General Data page 21.

I think I found a great web site for this;
http://www.donsbulbs.com/cgi-bin/r/t.pl

Enter 501 for L.501 into the bulb search, enter, click 501 Lucas on the list
and all the dimensions of the bulb and details pop also some possible
replacement bulb and equivalent numbers by Brand Name.  No matter where you
live you should be able to recognize a brand and number.   Now try the rest
of the numbers and make your own list.   You can also compare L.382 to a
1156 or an L.380 to a 1157.
