Joe

Welcome to the little details that are Tiger and Sunbeam.

The response to the Poll is way to low; you would need everyone to
respond and then there would still be gaps for the wrecked Tigers that are
no longer available. Therefore the accuracy of when the change happened
would be in doubt.

In response to Ross Hulse about switching the valve covers;" I am surprised
that most of these guys don't realize their valve covers are switched. :0"

He is not correct when it comes to stock original Ford valve covers.

My left valve cover has a big breather tube at the front and the right valve
cover has a port at the rear for the PCV valve. Yes you can physically
switch the covers but the hose plumbing would be a real messy looking deal
and defiantly not stock.

Basically it is your car; do the details the way you like best. I guarantee
the Sunbeam community is more interested in seeing that Tiger on the road
then picking at the little details.

I'm getting a little confused about the placement of the two different tags
though. Some folks are saying the metalized tag with the engine number on
it should be on the driver's side valve cover toward the back, and others
are saying it should be toward the front on the passenger side. I'm
referring here to a LHD car.

So, at some point the positions of the two tags were reversed. Has someone
been keeping track of all of the replies to try and figure out when the
switch was made?

Thanks,

Also, on the list some are saying that the label is on the left bank toward
the rear. The covers can be placed on either side they are interchangable.
If the label cover is placed on the left bank the label will be toward the
firewall and appear to be correct. However, the stock position is on the
right bank with the label forward. I am surprised that most of these guys
don't realize their valve covers are switched. :0
