Bill,
Not everybody on this list is more concerned with original hose clamps than
high performance. It's just that with the increasing value of the cars we've
become outnumbered and many cars are now in the hands of "collectors".
Like you, I've owned my Tiger since the early 70's and I made a lot of
performance modifications to it. I've driven stock Tigers and compared to my
own, find them uninspiring. Today, you would really have to think twice
about making some of those changes for fear of devaluing the car. I don't
have to worry about the value of mine because it won't be sold. It's been
spoken for since day 1 and when the time comes, that's where it will go.
I'm thankful that I lived at the right time and met the right people to
enjoy real Tigerin'. Some of the early Sunbeam Northwest events remain
legendary.
