MessageI spent some time about 13 years ago getting a fair amount of =
input from the list on the rotor thickness.  If I recall correctly most =
said there was no Rootes published minimum.  Someone did send me =
information stating that .375 was the minimum (below). =20

=E2=80=9CThe new rotors are .500 inch and the minimum is .375 inch.  The =
data came from a factory service bulletin.  Hope this helps.=E2=80=9D  =

.375 seems an awfully large amount out of a stated .500 rotor. If it =
matters I had my rotors turned and of the four I had done they were in =
the .435-.460 range. I had a hard time finding someone to turn the =
rotors being they had no actual number in their database (or on the =
rotor) to work from. I eventually found a Triumph guy at Pep Boys who =
was willing to turn them as long as I stated on the invoice that the =
.375 was provided by me. Initially I was only going to get one set =
turned, but when I finally found someone to turn them I dashed home and =
got the other set too - not wanting to miss the opportunity.

Speaking of hubs and in particular the discs.  Assuming the original =
thickness being around =C2=BD=E2=80=9D, just how far can one go when =
turning our discs down??  I have never seen any stampings on a disc to =
say what the =E2=80=9Climit=E2=80=9D is.   Just curious.

Every part has allowable manufacturing tolerance specified on the print.

I believe the brake discs should be about 1/2" thick but I don't know =
the tolerance for the max thickness or the diameter.  The caliper =
opening, caliper position and the thickness of the brake pads govern the =
max thickness and diameter of the disc.

The hub could be a different story.   It is very possible the mould =
cavity for that hub was at end of life with the tolerances maxed out or =
even greater.   Rootes was also near end of life so a deviation was =
probably signed off to accept these out of spec parts.  This is only a =
possible explanation.   We would need Corporate record to know the real =
truth.

Most likely that hub has some extra metal at the center hub that can be =
machine down to fit that Mag.
