Scott,
Having done this a few months ago, I found that I could force the pistons in
using hand pressure only. I did use a short length of wood across the piston
to push on.

Subject: Installing New Caliper Pistons

Started rebuilding my Girling Calipers on my '59 TR3A tonight and
am having a real hard time sliding the new SS pistons into the bore.
Cleaned the bore and groves with brake cleaner and there are no
significant scratches or marks. The sealing ring seems to fit fine
but there is a very slight lip. Lubed all with fluid.

Any suggestions on how to get the pistons to go in far enough
so that I can engage the outer dust cover lip into the piston
grove.

TIA
